I’m a designer and illustrator who loves the drama of the page turn…
I’ve Illustrated children's books with Penguin/Random House and Scholastic that have been positively reviewed in the NY Times and Publishers Weekly, have received numerous awards and have been translated into 6 languages. In addition I illustrate and design books, book covers, and do spot illustrations.
A Family of Insomniacs
My first book, The Insomniacs, was published by Penguin/Putnam. It was an incredible experience collaborating, not only with my brother but the editors as well. We worked for a year on getting the artwork right, learning about the pacing of a book, the art of the page turn and really trying to understand the audience (6-9 year olds). In the end it was a success, we got great reviews and won an award for the most promising newcomers from the Society of Illiustrators in NYC and were published in 4 additional languages.
“A quietly magnificent paean to the wonder of nightime and the solidity of the family unit.”
A Velocity of Being – Letters to a Young Reader
A NYTimes bestseller. My brother and I were so honored to be asked to be part of this amazing book. This collection was a passion project of Maria Popova from The Marginalian and Claudia Bedrick from Enchanted Lion.
“An Embarassment of Riches”
Seaver The Weaver
On this book I had the privilege of controlling the interior design and layout as well as illustrating. It gave me the chance to play with how the type could accentuate and guide the reading experience for the parent and the child.
Covers, Hand Lettering, and Book Design
In addition to illustrating books, I’ve had the chance to illustrate and design book covers, record covers, and editorial pieces. Including lots of drawing letters!

Fun With Type
I love drawing type. I try to draw words in my projects whenever I can, these are a few projects where I got to have fun with type.
